I remember the first and second MacWorld Boston expos that I went to. It was budget back then (somewhat). And Bungie was demoing Marathon 1. It was sweet. I remember seeing Jason playing the damn thing and dominating. His comment on everything....and I mean EVERYTHING was "cool". He was the man.

Then the 1995 expo. Marathon 2. I talked with Jason and Greg K. and Ryan and Doug. They actually hung with me. Jason yelled at me for wearing a Havoc shirt. I had lunch.....yes, I sat down and eat my sandwich and drank my soda, with Greg and Ryan as they explained to me that Netscape's stock is the biggest thing since my left....well...you know. ydnar was there! We were chillin'!

I remember the last Boston Macworld, when Bungie had the stampede. They knew DAMN WELL that anything like that was completely against the rules. But did they give a damn? NO! They did it for the fans! I won the damn thing with my best friend. It was so sweet-ass. On the final day of the expo Alex said to me, "Hey, you're a fan. You always come to our booth at all the expos and chill. Do you have a poster?" "No." I respond, expecting it to be a trick. "Hey, Jim, give him a poster - he's a fan." Can you believe that?! I got a trilogy poster, the original "Don't Make us beat your ass" shirt (two of them!) the trilogy box set, and lots of conversation time ALL for being a devoted fan!!! I mean come on! That's love right there.

Now that Bungie is part of MS - well, the last love we're gonna get is in this fucking cheese-ball fan gathering.

Yeah, they're buying pizza/drinks and renting out a kewl flat all for free. But fuckit man. I mean, really! It's a fucking farewell party. "Thanks....SUCKERS!" We are why they exist. We bought their games even though we could have ignored them and bought a PC and played DOOM for a lot less cash. We saw the potential. Not only did we own a shitty Mac....BUT WE PLAYED GAMES ON IT! No one could understand that but us, and Bungie. Jason said that it was kewl to program on the Mac because the fans were devoted. Ah! I see! We are all blind suckers who will support you and place you in the fist of MS.

I am pissed. Bungie, it's not about making games. I mean, it is, but it's also about who plays them. I won't play them if they don't come out for the Mac/PC. It's that simple. Games are NOT a major part of my life anymore. So buying a console is the last thing that I would do. My PSX is stolen for god's sake. And I barely even use it (once every 3 months - if that).

You've lost one of your biggest fans Bungie. I hope you realize that and how much it will hurt you. MS fans are - if they exist - not nearly as devoted. Don't you dare think for a second that you'll catch me walking into an MS booth at an expo....unless for reasons regarding terrorism/espionage/cream pies.
